      The New Employee Verification Act, which I introduced earlier this year along with a fellow Arizonan, Rep. Harry Mitchell, would establish a voluntary program in which employers could enroll and use biometric identifiers to ensure that their new hires are authorized to work in the United States. The program is designed to improve on the current E-Verify system, which is vulnerable to abuse through identity theft and document fraud.
